B.A English (Hons.)


  • To inculcate in the student an understanding of literature, its socio-political and cultural underpinnings, and its moral, creative and revolutionary potential.
  • To inspire students to view literary history as a continuum of shifting perspectives and new creative ideas.
  • To instill an understanding of the various genres of literature their nature and characteristics and to inspire an engagement with the practical examples of the form.
  • To instill in students an awareness and understanding of various critical perspectives and to encourage them to apply the same to all forms of literature across its staggering diversity.
  • To encourage students to develop and adopt a comparative approach to literature.
  • To encourage creativity in students through close reading of significant literary texts from various genres included in the curriculum.
  • To view literature as an important agency of socio-cultural transformation.





B.A. (Hons.) Economics

  • To understand the basics of Economics.
  • To demonstrate an understanding of basic functioning of Indian economy.
  • To demonstrate knowledge of terms and concepts, empirical tools, problem solving skills and strong understanding of policies related to Economics.
  • To recognize and appreciate the diversity of views about economic problems that have historically been expressed and to analyze social problems and public policies.
  • To understand how to make rational choice using economic principles.
  • To equip students with reasoning skills problems solving techniques needed to understand adverse set of issues such as how macroeconomic policies affect economic growth.
  • To describe the institutions in India that shape policies to achieve their goals in addressing issues of unemployment, inflation, exchange rates, balance of payments, economic growth etc in present global context.
  • To identify, compile, and analyze quantitative economic data by expressing relationships between concepts through graphs, statistical and econometric analysis.
  • To understand the history of economic thought and the controversies among the major school of thought.
  • To understand and learn the basic terminology of micro and macro Economics, how market operates, the level of economic activity in an economy determined.


B.A. (Hons.) Geography


  • To study the physical as well as cultural elements of the environment and co-relate these elements with plant, animals and mankind.
  • To learn multifacial resources of our earth, their utilization and distribution.
  • To learn the techniques of adjustment with the sustainable resource development so that, each and every resource could be preserved.
  • To maintain the equilibrium between development utilization and exploitation so that life become peaceful and our planet is happy, devoid of pollution degradation and disparities.


B.A. (Hons.) History

  • To distinguish facts from myths.
  • To develop a critical thinking of historical facts, events and interpretations.
  • To recognize causes and effects of events.
  • To have a knowledge and familiarity with multiple cultures.
  • To look at things in a global perspective.
  • To evaluate how history has been shaped throughout the ages.
  • To be able to evaluate historical information from multiple sources.







B.A. (Hons.) Political Science


  • To write clearly on issues of domestic, international politics and matters of public policy.
  • To participate as a civically enlightened and engaged member of society.
  • To form an independent opinion and options about political and policy problems.
  • To use electronic and traditional library resources to research key local, state, national and international policy matters
  • To demonstrate competency with basic tools being used in modern social science research-including statistical and quantitative analysis.
  • To demonstrate critical and analytical thinking by independently forming arguments both in favor and against key processes, institutions etc.
  • To discuss the major theories and concepts of political science and its sub-fields.
  • To demonstrate ample interest in the recent and contemporary developments like inter-disciplinary studies, area studies, peace studies, issues of feminism, geo-political studies etc.
  • To locate such issues which are responsible for either augmenting the process of peace and development or creates obstacles and hurdles.
  • To deliver thoughtful and well calibrated presentations of research findings.












  • To understand the central concepts, tools of inquiry, and structures of the disciplines and can create learning experiences that make these aspects of subject matter meaningful.

  • To have a sound understanding of computer applications which can give them a perfect start for a challenging career in the field of information technology. This program prepares students with the necessary skills to build successful careers in the information sector. The curriculum is truly tuned for the holistic development of the students and aims at nurturing them as proficient programmers and computer professionals.
  • BCA graduates are able to develop and prepare documents, projects, presentations, design websites and demonstrate skills in running software programs. Besides imparting theoretical knowledge, a lot of stress is laid on hands-on training and overall development of the personality.
  • To work gainfully in software services companies, outsourcing companies, and other allied sectors.
  • To impart advanced knowledge in various areas of computer applications. It has been designed in such a way that student can complete it based on their advanced coursework.
