Rashtriya Ucchatar Siksha Abhiyan (RUSA) is a governmental scheme which has been jointly financed by Govt. of India and the State Government. The scheme aims at academic and infrastructural development of leading colleges of the state. Karim City College was among the first thirty colleges of the state that were selected for RUSA I. The College has already utilized the funds released by the government. Substantial infrastructural and academic changes have taken place due to this in the last few years. Up gradation of library and laboratory, enhancement of sports facilities, up gradation of class rooms, establishment of new e-class rooms, extension of reading room, renovation of the whole campus etc. has been undertaken with the assistance of this scheme. The RUSA grants in general and the motivational approach of the officials of Department of Higher &Technical Education, Govt. of Jharkhand in particular has surely helped the college to strengthen its infrastructural standards
