ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

The Department of Mass Communication at Karim City College is dedicated to fostering a vibrant learning environment where students can explore, innovate, and excel in the field of media and communication. With a focus on both theoretical knowledge and practical skills, the department equips students with the tools they need to thrive in today’s dynamic media landscape.

Led by experienced faculty members and industry professionals, the department offers a comprehensive curriculum covering various aspects of mass communication, including journalism, broadcasting, advertising, public relations, and digital media. Through hands-on projects, internships, and experiential learning opportunities, students gain real-world experience and develop a strong foundation for their future careers.

The department of Mass Communication-Video production at Karim City College is striving to cater to this need. The global need for excellent and responsible media professionals is increasing day by day. We recognize the media as a noble profession with lots of social responsibility. Our motive is to prepare the bridge for such professionals who can raise the present standard of journalism.

We express our gratitude to U.G.C, which, by way of strict scrutiny and screening, selected Karim City College to education students in mass communication and video production in the academic year1997–98. Karim City College is the first institution to have this discipline in the state of Jharkhand. The objective of the department was to promote graduates who would be readily available and acceptable to the print and electronic media. Students are trained for successful entrepreneurship as well. We are pleased to share with you that our graduates are working with almost all leading newspapers, television, and radio channels.

Keeping all our achievements in mind, Kolhan University, Jharkhand, Chaibasa, has given us

permission to start Post Graduation in Mass Communication in the session 2010–2011. We believe that the students pursuing media as their career option are ready to face the challenges of the industry. Our students have shown their potential in the past 25 years, and we hope that upcoming batch will keep excelling too.
