About the Department
The Faculty of Commerce came into existence as an independent wing with the launching of the B.Com Course in 1964. The faculty has been making intensive efforts to improve its profile, by serving the community on different fronts, in the form of imparting education through Add-On Courses. M.Com course came into existence in the year 2015.
Nowadays the demand for BBA courses is rising continuously among students as it provides them with a deep understanding of the management skills required to run a business or organization successfully. It also helps one think more clearly about the different phases and business-running techniques. We are going to start a four year BBA (Bachelor in Business Administration) course from this academic session, 2023-27.
Since its establishment, the faculty has carved its place in the university as well as in the state also by securing a cent-percent academic success record with distinction and a significant number of first-division holders.
Through the sustained high track record of academic success, the Commerce Faculty of Karim City College has become synonymous with a high-quality education in the field of commerce. The main aim of the Department of Commerce &Business Management is to offer superior quality, affordable & professional education with a view to building graduates &postgraduates with high ethical & management qualities. The Department of Commerce & Business Management is fully equipped with a wide range of the latest technology tools including Smart Classrooms and a fully furnished and well-stocked central as well as faculty library with all the necessary course books, reference books, and journals.

SOUL (Seeking Opportunity for Understanding and Learning)
A series of lectures of guest speaker from diverse field particularly in the domain area of Finance, Marketing, HR and Entrepreneurship to help the students to get an insight into a spectrum of areas of their choice and strengthen their existing ties with the industry.
Literary & Cultural Events
To enhance confidence; self-presentation; teamwork and collaboration, time management and organizational skills; communication skills, open mindedness to enable the students move beyond boundaries and experiment with different ideas. The management club aims to organize various Cultural & Literary Activities giving an opportunity to students to learn from these activities resulting in a whole new developed, and an improved person so that they may contribute in a better way towards the development of society.
Entrepreneurship Development:
To enable the students to learn entrepreneurial skills and to teach students different facets of starting a business and developing it to be successful different activities like idea summit, inviting local entrepreneurs into the classroom, setting up mock interviews , Self-SWOT Analysis to encourage students to consider their entrepreneurial skills, studying a star entrepreneur, Business Plan Shark Tank will be conducted.
Excursion (Industrial Visits)
Excursion and Industrial Visits to different location will be conducted where the students would get to learn and interact with the Industry Stalwarts and see how the industry operates, get practical in-depth subject knowledge and gain sound experience of the industry the students would be entering into.
Skills & Personality Development Programme
The club aims to provide students an opportunity to cultivate different skills and traits that make them into future leaders. Activities such as Conscious Connections, Youth Empowering Youth (YEY), the JOY Relationship Building Projects. Art Therapy will be conducted to help students regain the confidence in speaking and presenting themselves in various social, personal and professional situations.
Value added programme
To ensure that learning process is more interactive, practical and application oriented the department aims to provide Certificate programs on Basic of MS Office, Tally, Digital Marketing. Students can be motivated to be as a change agent by undertaking social support activities.
These value-added programs will supplement students learning, exposes them to challenges that are encountered in work life.
Webinar Series
To ensure continuous learning and bridge the gap between corporate and academia a series of lectures by a senior leader from the industries will be conducted. In an engaging session, the industry veteran will shares their insights on a particular topic with the students. The main aim of Leadership Webinar Series is to keep students up to date with the recent changes, trends, and challenges that industries are facing.
National Conference
Department of Business Administration aims to host an extensive programme of events, research conferences, seminars and workshops, featuring business leaders and academic experts covering a rich spectrum of topics including finance, management, entrepreneurship, human resources, public policy and corporate governance. These events will reflect a high level of engagement with our faculty, students, and external stakeholders and ensure that our students remain at the forefront in fields of management education and research.
Management club – Department of Business Administration is committed to enrich and empower the students with academic and technical excellence. In order to meet the challenging needs of corporate world environment, it is not just sufficient for a student of management to be sound theoretically but must also be exposed to the outer world in a dynamic way to face practical situation.
To encourage the students to cultivate an environment in which education goes beyond the confines of the classrooms. We announce the formation of Management Club for the holistic development of our students. Management club has been setup for the students and it will be managed by the students of the department. The moto of this club is to organize extracurricular activities in the department. Organizing these events will not only keep students excited and involved but will also help the students to seek responsibilities involved in managing an event.
