Our college was established in the year 1961. The degree teaching was launched in 1963, the affiliation for degree teaching was granted to the college by Ranchi University on 1/5/1965 along with other subjects in the Arts faculty. Prof. SamrendraMisra was the head of our department, later Mr. Zainuddin and Mr. ShabanulHaque was appointed as a lecturer in the department of Political Science. After the sad demise of Mr. Zainuddin, Dr. M. A. Makki joined the college in July 1981. In July 1990 Dr. Anwar Shahab joined the college and after the retirement of Prof. S. Misra, Dr. Tanvir Jamal Kazmi joined the college as lecturer on 5/6/1996.
Honours teaching in the department of Political Science was introduced in the college from the session 1996 as Ranchi University granted permanent affiliation in Arts subjects. Since then it is working satisfactorily.
Many of our previous students are working as teachers and holding other responsible positions in various organizations. A few of them have made their way to central services as well and are currently working in the Central Excise Department and Income tax departments
