Department of Urdu is one of the oldest departments of Karim City College. It was established in the year 1963. Prof. Syed Mohammad Yasin, the Founder Principal of the College was also the Founder Teacher and Head of the Urdu Department. Since then the Department is running with a reputation of having best available faculty members, better academic results and good teaching-learning conditions. Several teachers of National and International repute were associated with this department who served the cause of better education in Mother Tongue, the main motto of this linguistic minority college. Apart from teaching Under Graduate Honors course, it is one of the two Departments selected for Post Graduate Teaching since session 2015-16.
