This department came up while we were under Ranchi University in year 2002 and our 1^st batch passed out in year 2005. This is a 3 years degree Honors undergraduate course, presently affiliated to Kolhan University. There was great surge in favor of automation and IT enabled services in the first decade of twenty first century. Almost everywhere colleges started vocational courses on the direction of University Grants Commission. We also started the same with the goal to provide job oriented courses to our students.The process of admission was through entrance examination followed by interview till 2015- 2016 session. The Kolhan University adopted the method of Centralized admission from 2016- 2017. This department has very successfully catered to the needs of the students not only the state of Jharkhand but also to students from Bihar, Bengal and Odisha.

We admit 60 students in this course every year. We have good infrastructural facilities in our department which provides very conducive atmosphere. Our computer lab is very well equipped to cater to the needs of our budding computer professionals. We have competent, hard-working and devoted faculty who have always tried to develop our students intellectually with best of knowledge sharing and at the same time inculcate in them the qualities of a proficient professional and a disciplined citizen to take on the responsibilities in their latter part of life.
