The department of Computer Applications was started in the year 2002. There was urgent need to take a turn to vocational courses in the wake of employment driven education policy of the union government and similar perceptions echoed by University Grants Commission. We admit 60 students in this course every year. The process of admission was through entrance examination followed by interview till 2015- 2016 session. The Kolhan University adopted the method of Centralized admission from 2016- 2017. As it was a new development and the criterion for admission was also changed (Condition of 45% marks in Mathematics was made compulsory for admission) therefore the number of admissions has dropped temporarily. This department has very successfully catered to the needs of the students not only from the state of Jharkhand but also to students from Bihar, Bengal and Odisha.
